Henle String Quartet

Kevin Sloan, violin, is a graduate of the Boyer College of Music and Dance at Temple University, where he studied violin with Vladimir Dyo. He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree at the University of Massachusetts where he is studying with Elizabeth Chang.

Amanda Stenroos, violin, is in her second year at UMass Amherst pursuing a Master of Music degree in violin performance. She is currently a member of the Henle String Quartet and the UMass Amherst Symphony Orchestra. She received her Bachelor of Music in violin performance from the Baldwin Wallace Conservatory of Music in Berea, Ohio. While at BW, she studied with Dr. Julian Ross and Annie Fullard of the Cavani Quartet. She currently studies with Elizabeth Chang.

Martin Alexander, viola, commenced his tertiary studies at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, (Australia) in 2008, first majoring in piano, then in viola. He graduated with a Bachelor of Music under the tutelage of Graeme Jennings, before continuing his studies at the University of Tasmania with Josephine St. Leon. Martin is currently undertaking a Masters in Music in the United States with violist Kathryn Lockwood at the University of Massachusetts.

Sarah Bish, cello, made her solo debut in 2008, performing with the Hudson Valley Philharmonic after winning first prize in the Virtuoso-in-Progress Concerto Competition. Her principal teachers include Astrid Schween, Merry Peckham, and Madeleine Golz, with additional instruction from Steven Doane, Timothy Eddy, and Alisa Weilerstein. Sarah Holds a Bachelors Degree in cello performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music and a minor in European History from Case Western Reserve University. She is currently pursuing a Masters Degree at the University of Massachusetts where she is the cello studio Teaching Assistant to Astrid Schween.
