MISSION
The Berkshire Bach Society is the oldest, continuously operating, member-based non-profit music organization in Berkshire County. Our mission is to preserve the cultural legacy of Baroque music for current and future audiences—local, national, and international—by presenting the music of J.S. Bach, his mentors, contemporaries, and followers performed at the highest level by professional musicians on period and modern instruments. Our concerts include the full range of Baroque music from solo recitals through large choral works by composers both familiar and unfamiliar. The repertoire is an important legacy that has been passed down from generation to generation, and The Society is committed to doing our part to ensure that it is kept alive for future audiences.

We engage world-class musicians to present the mastery of Bach and other composers, to probe the canon of work for programming that excites, entertains, and uplifts and to feed our audiences’ appetite for more information.
HISTORY
The Berkshire Bach Society was founded in 1990 by teacher, writer, musician, and music critic Simon Wainrib, who had a life-long devotion to the music of J.S. Bach. READ MORE
